Man oh man.
If you're ever considering joining a swim team because you think it will be relaxing and you'll get to have a nice leisurely swim every couple of days... don't.
That's not the exact mind set I had going into the first two weeks of SAISA training, but it was certainly not far from it. Swimming is actually soosso hard...
We train Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons and again on Saturday mornings. We total up something like 9 hours of swimming a week !
I'm definitely not one of the advanced swimmers so its been quite the work out. Its really funny there are like two little kids in my lane who are in the same class as my little sister (11 years old) and they totally just lap me nonstop every session...
I'm definitely feeling unfit and out of shape at the moment that's for sure. But, in saying that, I'm already feeling 10x better now (after 7 sessions) then I did at the start. My coach has been really great and is giving me awesome feedback on the technical side of my strokes and each have improved as a result. I feel like a much smoother swimmer already :)
